SYNOPSIS

Ireland, 1952. Philomena Lee, a teenager falls pregnant. Rejected by her family , she was sent to the convent of Roscrea . As compensation for care provided by religious before and during birth , she worked in the laundry , and is allowed to see her son , Anthony , one hour per day . At the age of three , he is torn to be adopted by Americans. For years, Philomena try to find him. When , fifty years later , she met Martin Sixmith a disillusioned journalist , she tells her story , and it persuades to accompany the United States in search of Anthony .
